DEFENSES TO OFFENSES
PUNISHMENT
There are several ways one can be… "Offensive" in the world of Nemonon. Doing any of the following is BAAAAD Karma around here, and may put you in harm's way:
Powerplaying (declairing actions for someone else without their prior concent)
IGMing (Suddenly you are invincible when before you were not – see IGMer)
Illegitimate Deming (Automatically fixing another person's problems without prior concent- see Deux ex Machina, God from the Machine, Dem)
Blanketing (Making statements that encompass "all." Example: *he explodes into a brilliant light blinding all as he enters. All roll on the ground in agony of their eyes*…….. well, my character as a blind man, would LOVE to be able to even experience such a thing you know not being able to see to begin with)
Stupidity (Doing any action that, in terms of suitable and sensible Roleplaying, seems like such common sense that a person would NOT do it)
Switching (Trying to change fighting styles in the middle of a fight. If you start in T1, end in T1)
Insta (Instadeath -*kills him* Insta wound - *paralizes him with the blow* Insta bound *he cannot break free* all offensive)
Ooc Ic crossing (not being able to differentiate between a character's actions and a writers actions. This works both ways. Being mad at a writer for something their character did, or being mad at a character for something the writer did not related to Rping)
It has been asked in FFRP "what is the risk?" Quite simple- that you make an ass of yourself and none shall play with you. Hard to roleplay without other players. An if you think being an ass is gonna interrupt our play, you'll get to meet your new friend - the ignore button. There are enough of us who enjoy one another's company that the lack of your existance will hardly be noted.
Take the following course of actions when dealing with a trouble maker:
1.Take it up FIRST and FOREMOST with the offending party, try to work it out
2.Slander. Slander slander slander. If they wont listen to reason, then make it a point to warn others of their … em… "unique" Rping style
3.Artifex. That's what we're here for folks. Send us an email and we shall investigate the matter where upon we may have to issue the "STAMP" if need be. All Investigations are anonyms. We will not say "Well so and so forth sent me." The party being investigated will not be informed that they are being investigated…it will just happen. An incentive to "play nice."
DO NOT interrupt Rping with your squabbles
DO NOT slander without talking out out first
DO NOT fight with someone OOC for IC and visa versa
*While most communities focus on IC to OOC arguments, we must put particular emphasis on OOC to IC. If you are irritated with a writer, don't set out to make things miserable for their character
What Happens When You Get Investigated
1st Offense
So, you've broken some codes of Nemonon ethics ...
Well, we're a forgiving people, just behave yourself from now on
2nd Offense
So, you've broken some codes… again
Find the offended party, work it out, we'll let it slide, play nice
3rd Offense So…*pause* you again…
- Fear not, that isn't to say we won't talk about you behind your back.
I wish I could say that we were motivated enough to come up with some elaborate banishment ceremony where your were stoned before all and noted as a Blasphemer … but we're not.
4th Offense *drumming fingers on desk* I see… Well now…
*brings out a large rubber stamp dripping with black India ink, plants it in the center of your forehead with a hollow "thud" and holds a mirror before your glazed eyes. With what little literacy your feeble mind has, you muster out the ability to read the Lombardic script now embedded in your forehead, formed backwards because of the mirror image, but clear as day to see for all who encounter you…
It reads- "Idiot"
