UWL stands for Universal Writers Logic. Basically... the idea that certain boundaries and environmental properties exist in a given RP setting. Perhaps call it DMing, but it's not quite that...specific. The Nemonon UWL is simply an explaination of the types of characteristics known to be used by the Nemonon writers, but all sorts of other theories and so forth exist in the same 'universe' due to the broad acceptence of other types of play. UWL simply describes how a Nemonon member character will interact with you, what sorts of things they're liable to rely on, and why there are able to. In short, UWL is the governing mythology of the writers.

We find, for the sake of sanity in RPs, and the fact that so many's myths, magic, bardic practice, defenition, et cetera differs, that it is best to focus primarily on how things affect yourself (or those within your circle that share the same UWL) and only mildly touch on how it affects another. By our standard, there is no one attack power that can be resisted by positively everything, nor is there one attack that positively everything is affected by. Of course in light of this, this is why we make it a point not to fight with other characters unless it is artfully worked as a storyline...in which case we speak out of character with the opponent to be sure they understand our UWL and we understand theirs.

Most features in Nemonon's mythology are based largly in already existing human cultures. Strange conglomerations, truncations, or direct derivatives comprise the mythology. For instance, in one culture, a certain flower may herald death properties, while in an eastern culture it may be a cure for enchantment. The idea behind the UWL is to provide some basic understanding between writers, some inspiration, and a little forewarning to those who interact with players here, since a lot of play happens in public domain chat sites, where all manner of RP groups come together at one time, including our players..
